Welcome to Yarn & Thread by Lisa's Blog

I wanted a place were I could let you know the latest updates. And were we could share ideas or opinions on yarns. I figured a blog was better than a lot of emails.

Feel free to post your opinions on yarns we carry or ask questions. I look forward to hearing from you!!

Storefront Closing Date is Set!!

Well, the sale of the store did not go through. So, we will be selling off our entire inventory, cabinetry…..everything.

All our prices have been slashed
30% to 50% off the manufacture’s retail.

We have set the closing date for the storefront at June 29, 2012. The internet sale will continue until we have sold off as much of the inventory as we want to though.

All remaining cotton yarns I will just hang onto. I will use those for the hand knitted items that I sell. We sell a lot of the knitted dishcloths and kitchen sets. I have clients that still want me to make those for their sales. So any remaining cotton yarns will be used for that. With that in mind I hope no one is waiting for the cotton yarn prices to go down to much. They probably will not go much below what they are right now since I can use that yarn up myself.

Don’t wait to long to get your favorite yarns or everything maybe gone!!!

Some Tough Decisions!!

We have had to make a few really tough decisions these past few months. For a little over a year now we have been putting off the inevitable. Due to family commitments and needs we are going to have to close Yarn & Thread by Lisa.

Right now we do have a lady that is interested in buying Yarn & Thread by Lisa. But we have no way of knowing how much of the business she will keep the same. We are waiting for approval on her loan. If her loan is approved she will take control of the business immediately. I will remain here for awhile to show her how we do things. After that it will be all hers.

If her loan is not approved then we will be selling out all of our yarn inventory, shelving, computers….the works. I will be taking a small portion of the business home to work there. Right now I am building that site. You can find our new smaller business at www.cotton-corner.com

No, we will not be carrying any of the yarns anymore. We will only be carrying the Stamped Embroidery and Cross Stitch items and the DMC Embroidery Floss. The Crochet Cotton is still up in the air. I would like to continue carrying it but we will have to see what space will allow. I have to keep the inventory down to something that I can manage myself and still be there for my family.

I look forward to still serving our embroidery customers. And I will sorely miss the rest of you. It has been 18 wonderful years!!

As changes arise I will post them here. So if you want to stay in the loop make sure you check back.
